Lean Back Kick

This is a kick with the top of the foot or the toes.

Drill:
Start with your feet together and arms in front of your chest. Lean back as much as you can and kick forward with your right foot. At the same time, extend your arms to your sides (Figure 2-41). Straighten your body and bring your arms and leg back to the starting position and repeat the kick several times. Then do the kick with the other leg.

Lean Back Heel Kick

This is a kick with the heel of the foot.

Drill:
Start with your feet together and arms in front of your chest. Lean back as much as you can and kick forward with your right heel. At the same time, extend your arms to your sides (Figure 2-42). Straighten your body and bring your arms and leg back to the starting position and repeat the kick several times. Then do the kick with the other leg.
