48 Posture Taijiquan requires that students have previously studied and completed 24 Posture Taijiquan. These instructions assume SOUTH as the starting direction.

Movements:

Figure 5-73: Rotate your right palm until it faces down and rotate your left palm until it faces up. Then lower both palms down to your waist. At the same time, bring your right foot closer to your left, with the ball of your right foot touching the floor.

Figure 5-74: Bring both palms up to shoulder level with your left palm touching the inside of your right wrist. Then extend both palms forward while stepping forward with your right foot.

Figure 5-75: Shift all your weight to your right foot and bring your left foot closer to your right foot.

Figure 5-76: Shift all your weight to your left leg and lift your right heel off the floor. At the same time, lower your left palm down and then up to head level, and bend your right elbow, lowering your right palm down next to your waist.

Figure 5-77: Step forward with your right foot into Bow stance. At the same time, punch down with a left fist, and pull your right palm next to your waist.
