A Step Kick is a kick with the bottom of your foot at an angle downward During the kick the foot is turned out at a 90 degrees angle.
Wushu Basic Kicks - Step Kick
Drill: Start in a ready position with your left leg forward (Figure 259). Turn your left foot out slightly and shift your weight onto your left leg. Then lift your right foot up and kick forward and down with the bottom of your foot (Figure 2-60). Put your right foot down and shift your weight onto your right leg. Then lift your left foot up and kick forward and down. Alternate from side to side across the training area.
