48 Posture Taijiquan requires that students have previously studied and completed 24 Posture Taijiquan. These instructions assume SOUTH as the starting direction.

Figure 5-98: Shift your weight back to your right leg, while circling your left palm counter-clockwise to your left and circling your right palm counter-clockwise to your right.

Figure 5-99: Turn your left foot out and shift your weight on it, while touching the ball of your right foot next to your left foot. At the same time, continue circling your right arm up and left arm down. Both hands are held in fists, with your right elbow between your body and your left forearm.

Figure 5-100: Step to your upper right corner with your right foot and lower your body. At the same time, extend your left fist to your left and extend your right fist down along the inside of your right leg until it is next to your right foot. (Step Southeast)
